Security
Security that works quietly in the background
Email carries a lot of responsibility, and we treat it that way. MailPlan combines solid account protection, careful handling of your data, and filtering that keeps threats out of your inbox — without getting in the way of your day.
Your account
Passwords are stored as strong one-way hashes, never in plain text — even we can't look them up. Access to the platform itself is protected, and connections to our servers are always secured.
Keeping mail clean
Every message is screened by our filtering engine for phishing, scams and spam before it reaches your inbox. Caught messages land in your Spam folder, which you can train by marking messages as spam or not spam — so the filtering keeps improving with your preferences.
Deliverability
Mail you send is signed with your domain's DKIM key, and we help you set up SPF and DMARC records on signup. These standard measures prove the mail comes from your domain, which keeps your outbound mail out of spam folders and protects your reputation.
Your data
Your mail and settings are stored on two separate servers, in the Netherlands and Germany. We replicate your data to protect you from accidents and outages — not to inspect your mail.
Access & support
Access to customer accounts is restricted to authorised staff and only used to resolve support requests or keep the service running. We don't browse mail, and we'll always tell you what we're doing and why.
The honest limits
Email is an open standard, and a few things are simply how email works:
- Mail you send to recipients on other providers travels over standard SMTP — we can't control what their provider does with the copy they receive.
- Filtering is never perfect: keep an eye on your Spam folder for misjudged mail, and use the training options if you spot any.
- Deliverability depends on the receiving server's policies too. We handle our side properly (DKIM, SPF, DMARC, healthy sending practices); the rest is up to the other side.
